SportPesa Premier League action returns this weekend with tricky matches to be played for the super cup where Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards who settled for a one-all draw in Nairobi Derby two weeks ago will play against Nzoia Sugar and Zoo Kericho respectively.


SPL leaders Gor Mahia will be aiming at excerelating their lead in the table while leopards will be recovering when they visit Zoo Kericho in Kericho. GOR has so far gannered six points.


Gor has been on trail of winning their six-match which was halted by their rivals Leopards at Nyayo Stadium last month. The team has expressed theoir hopes of winning as they meet Nzoia Sugar atMoi Stadium in Kisumu.


Gor captain Musa , who scored an own goal in their 1-1 against Leopards, told Nation Sport yesterday that they are ready to roar again in today’s match and keep their march towards the title on.


“That was not the performance we wanted. None of us was proud of the result but the good thing is that there are still many more games remaining. Starting tomorrow (today) we shall do our best to win games and make our supporters happy,” Mohammed said.

Musa Mohammed will lead Gor alongside Harun Shakava, Karim Nizigiyimana and Godfrey Walusimbi as they toil for the three crucial points.

George “Blackberry” Odhiambo will partner the Rwandan duo of Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge in attack.

However, Nzoia Sugar coach Bernard Mwalala remains confident that the team that had lost 1-0 to Gor can overturn the ressult and deliver good returns in Kisumu.

“I want the boys to go out there and enjoy the game without pressure. Like all games we have played so far, this one can go either way. In fact, we can win if we stick to everything we have trained for all week,” he said.Defending champions

 will be in Awendo on Sunday to take on Sony Sugar. the team will be seeking to redeem its perfomance which will revive the hopes of coming up from their ninth place.


In another match, second-placed Sofapaka will be hoping to keep tabs on Gor Mahia when they host troubled Chemelil Sugar On Sunday in Narok.


In Mombasa, Bandari will face Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday where their efforts will be boosted by the return of Tanzanian striker Lewis Cosmas who was away following the death of his father.


Other matches that will be played on Saturday are Nakumatt vs Posta Rangers, Mathare United vs Western Stima, Kakamega Homeboyz vs Thika United and Muhoroni Youth vs Ulinzi Stars.
